As part of the quarterly All-Staff meetings, we produce a Learning About L&I segment that focuses on work areas around Labor & Industries to educate staff on work they may not see in their day-to-day. In this Learning About L&I segment, we learn more about Industrial Hygienists and the work that they do.
This was the first Learning About L&I that I was a part of when I came to work for them. We went on location to Nucor Steel to film the site and interview Lani Gabriel of L&I and Oliver Lyles of Nucor Steel. I got to cut my teeth on color grading to the standard of the multimedia manager and have had multiple opportunities to grow my skill set since.
One of my favorite parts about working for Washington State and particularly L&I is the ability to learn so much about what industries and people are out there. Learning about this stuff highlights how much goes into the day-to-day of what we do and benefit from that we never consciously are aware of.
