This is a spot I animated as part of a campaign for the Stay At Work program for Labor & Industries. This was actually one of my pitched ideas when we were first brainstorming. I thought a fast talking voice walking the viewer through the benefits of the program for both employees and employers was a good approach to squeeze into a 30-second spot, and my team and the program agreed.
We actually produced 3 animatics and had them focus tested before fully deciding on an idea and a majority picked my version of the piece as the front-runner, so that’s what we went with.
I utilized Adobe Illustrator and After Effects to create the graphics and animate them. It took quite a long time to produce as the sole animator on the project, and I was up against a tight deadline, but I managed to polish everything and get it delivered on time.
I learned a lot on this project that affects how I create graphics for animation. I love building modular pieces for my animations so that nothing is destructive, that way if I need to go back and update something, I am able to so without needing to completely rework the project.
We did a Spanish version, as well!
