Safety is the number one priority at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. It takes place well before the job starts and is considered well after it ends. As the internal communications experts, it is up to us to make sure that everyone is aware of proper safety protocol. It is our job to communicate that effectively. Enter the Seat belt Safety Video below.
This was actually a project that was given to a co-worker, but they left for another job and I took it over. So I had little to do with the planning of this shoot, but I helped to shoot it and completely re-edited it thereafter. It is always a unique experience stepping into someone else’s project, but the transition worked nicely.
Our goal was to communicate the importance of ignoring one’s cell phone when operating a vehicle in an ODOT yard or at a work zone as well as the importance of wearing one’s seat belt. We got a lot of different shots of a lot of different vehicles featuring a lot of different people. The reason for this was to cover all instances when someone might be using a vehicle since not everything ODOT workers use can feel like a vehicle when it is specialized equipment.
