Streaming to Twitch is a blast, but the last thing that I want is a generic looking channel. So whenever I start playing a new game, I always make sure to make some unique assets that serve as in and outgoing slates. It adds a bit of flavor to the stream and the individuality of the channel keeps viewers around longer.
When I started playing Resident Evil 7 for the stream, I was obsessed with the creepy, basement-like atmosphere that the game exhibited. Especially the first time as a player when you go into the morgue in the basement to face-off against the mold people, that dimly lit and claustrophobic vibe was really something I wanted to put out with this stream. So, I designed this looping slate that would play to announce the stream and allow me to get everything set up while welcoming viewers into the channel for the night. Paired with the haunting Resident Evil VII OST “Go Tell Aunt Rhody”, it helped to set the mood quite nicely.
