One of my first projects that I ever produced was for a local art supplies store. They initially had the idea of recording a large amount of their stock to showcase the brand names that they carry, but we had a conversation about what it means to be an artist and what might reel people in who deal in such an expressive medium. We decided collectively that a piece that was driven by emotions mattered more than a piece driven by inventory to the types of customers they wanted to draw. We sourced local artists to do the paintings for us and recorded the process of their work for this commercial.
It was a really successful piece and actually went on to win a Goldie Award. As one of my first produced pieces, it was a great moment for me to see the entire process all the way through and a great client to work with to make such a unique piece.
